Dr. Burgess is certified in rehabilitation therapy and acupuncture with a special sweet-spot for senior patient management. Dr. Kennedy Brooks earned his Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine from St. Georges University in 2020, where he also rescued his beloved Caribbean street dog, Emma -- Now a familiar face at the clinic who can often be found snoozing under his desk. Dr. Brooks has a special interest in ultrasound and long-term case management. He prides himself in being a true family veterinarian who is dedicated to providing thoughtful and continuity-based care. When he's not in surgery or supporting patient care, you'll find Dr. Brooks camping, hiking or constructing his latest LEGO masterpiece. Around the clinic, you may catch him showing off Pudge, the big white cat who he affectionately refers to as "his son." Dr. Brooks is also the loving pet parent to April, the sweetest cat who gives the best hugs.

Over the past 25 years, she has worked in a wide range of settings, including 12 years in emergency medicine, 5 years in daytime practice, and 8 years of locuming, which ultimately lead her to us! Dr. Gaynor started locuming with St. Albert Animal Clinic in November 2024 and loved the clients and team so much that she was thrilled to join us a part-time veterinarian three days a week. She completed Fear-Free training and strives to make every visit as comfortable and positive as possible. She strongly believes that being a veterinarian means caring for both the physical and emotional well-being of pets and the people who love them. When she's not in clinic, you can usually find Dr. Gaynor enjoying time at home with her daughter and her dog, Tao.
